These are then highlighted on your profile and your ‘connections’ will be offered the opportunity to ‘Endorse’ you against each of these skills. 

Over time, these third party endorsements add up and provide further weight to why you are the right person for the reader to contact, especially when you consider that by clicking on the link of the specific skill, you can see immediately the people that have rated you for this particular skill.

Linkedin have also included a series of ‘Skills Quizzes’ that you can complete and provides you with Skill Badges that you can include on your profile.
